The MWC’s annual Spring Fundraiser will be held on May 5th at the Mill Creek Country Club. This year’s Kentucky Derby themed event, called Hats and Horses will feature coverage of the race, casino games, a raffle, and live and silent auctions. The event will start at 5pm and will include drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres and music by DJ Billy St Pierre. Derby attire is strongly encouraged so be prepared to don your finest millinery as a best hat contest will be held. Proceeds benefit the club’s education initiatives.Tickets can be bought at Sol Garden, the Mill Creek Golf Club or here by visiting the buy tickets/donate tab above.

The MWC’s events draw hundreds of attendees, and its projects and initiatives reach thousands. If you are interested in learning more about sponsoring this event or other sponsorship opportunities through the Woman’s Club, please contact Bonnie Adams at bonnie.adams@duke.edu or email us via this site. Last year’s event brought in an excess of eight thousand dollars. Proceeds went towards scholarships for area college and high school students, Rachel’s Challenge, Read Across America,to name a few, and most recently to buy science kits for Mebane area elementary schools. Come out and support local initiatives and do it with derby style!
