Conservation

Conserving our natural resources is important to club members.  As such, we launched the Mebane Community Garden in 2007 to allow local citizens to rent plots for growing their own produce.  The Women’s Club tends several plots for the local Loaves and Fishes, and we also maintain a cutting garden to provide fresh flowers to local citizens and businesses.  For more information about the garden, email mebane.garden@gmail.com or visit us here.

In addition to maintaining the garden, club members have worked closely with local events to provide composting and recycling services, and we even provided 30 buckets to local citizens wishing to begin composting at home.   We’ve also helped install a vegetable garden at a local elementary school.  If you would like consultation around conservation issues, please contact us using the contact page.
